T C Rowan fabricates and installs bespoke security steel fencing for commercial, industrial and institutional sites across Oxfordshire. From a single perimeter line for a yard or compound to a full scheme for an industrial estate, school or facility, we handle the whole job under one roof: in-house design, fabrication in our own Banbury workshop, and installation by our own team. The same firm that designs your perimeter is the firm that sets the last post, so the line goes up straight, the gates hang true, and the security of the boundary is not lost in a handover between trades.
Types of security steel fencing we fabricate
Different sites need different boundaries. We match the fencing type to the threat level, the use of the site and the look you need, rather than fitting one product to every job.
Palisade fencing
Steel palisade is the classic high-security industrial perimeter: vertical pales on horizontal rails, with pointed or rounded tops to deter climbing. It suits yards, compounds, substations, plant and any site where a hard, obvious deterrent is the priority.
Bow-top fencing
Bow-top (vertical bar railing with looped, capped tops) is the usual choice for schools, nurseries, parks and public-facing sites. It gives a secure, anti-trap boundary that still looks open and welcoming rather than industrial, and it powder-coats well in a chosen colour.
Welded and mesh fencing
Welded mesh and weldmesh panel fencing give a strong but visually lighter boundary, with good through-visibility for sites that need to be seen into as well as secured. It is a common fit for commercial premises, sports areas and perimeters where palisade would be too severe.
Steel railings
Bespoke steel railings cover the decorative-but-secure middle ground: frontages, boundaries and access control where appearance carries equal weight with security. Railings sit within our wider steel gates and railings work.
Gates integrated into the line
A perimeter is only as secure as its weakest opening, which is almost always a gate. Because we fabricate the metal fencing and the gates as one package, the line stays continuous and the finishes match. We build pedestrian gates, swing and sliding vehicle gates, and gate frames designed to take electric or access-control operators where the site needs them. For vehicle access in particular, our driveway steel gates service covers the heavier swing and sliding gate frames that tie straight into a security fence line. Specifying the fencing and gates together, from one fabricator, is what keeps the openings as strong as the rest of the boundary.
Galvanising and powder-coat finishes
Security fencing lives outdoors and has to last, so the finish is part of the specification, not an afterthought. We typically hot-dip galvanise the steel for long-term corrosion protection, which is the workhorse finish for industrial and commercial perimeters. Where you want a specific colour, such as a school’s bow-top in a particular shade or a frontage that matches existing site branding, we add a powder-coat or paint finish over the galvanising. The right combination depends on the site, its exposure and the look you are after, and we confirm it with you before any steel is cut.
Commercial and industrial perimeter use
Most of our fencing work is perimeter security for working sites: industrial estates, warehouses and yards, commercial premises, schools and facilities, and let property where a landlord needs a compound or boundary secured. The fencing often forms part of a larger steelwork package on the same site, which is where our industrial steelwork capability earns its place: one fabricator for the building steel, the access steelwork and the perimeter, rather than three separate trades that never quite line up.
How we fabricate and install your fencing
Every fencing job follows the same disciplined path from survey to final post, and it is the reason the line arrives ready to fit rather than ready to argue about.
- Site survey. We measure the perimeter, note levels, gradients, ground conditions and access points, and agree where gates and openings sit.
- Design and specification. We confirm the fencing type, height, gate positions and the galvanising and finish specification, and agree it with you before fabrication.
- Fabrication. Pales, rails, panels, posts and gates are fabricated in our own Banbury workshop by qualified, coded welders, then galvanised and finished.
- Installation. Our own team sets the posts, hangs the gates and ties the line together on site, so the perimeter is installed by the people who built it.

Frequently asked questions
What types of security steel fencing do you fabricate?
We fabricate and install steel palisade fencing, bow-top fencing, welded and weldmesh panel fencing, and steel railings. Palisade suits high-security industrial perimeters, bow-top is the usual choice for schools and public-facing sites, and welded mesh gives a strong but less imposing boundary. We match the type to the site, the threat level and the look you need, and we integrate gates into the same line so the perimeter is continuous.
Can you supply matching gates with the fencing?
Yes. We fabricate the fencing and the gates as one package so the line is continuous and the finishes match. That covers pedestrian gates, swing and sliding vehicle gates, and frames built to take electric or access-control operators where you need them. Doing the fencing and gates together is the point of using a single fabricator. See our steel gates and railings page for the full gate range.
How is the steel fencing finished against corrosion?
Security fencing lives outdoors, so finish matters. We typically hot-dip galvanise the steel for long-term corrosion protection, and we can add a powder-coat or paint finish over the galvanising where you want a specific colour, such as a school’s bow-top in a chosen RAL shade. The right specification depends on the site and exposure, which we confirm with you before fabrication.
Do you cover commercial and industrial sites across Oxfordshire?
Yes. From our Banbury base we fabricate and install security fencing for commercial, industrial and institutional sites across Oxfordshire, plus Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire, with larger schemes taken on UK-wide.
